Applications are now being accepted for three (3) volunteer positions on the Mt. Shasta Recreation & Parks District Board to be appointed by the City of Mt. Shasta. The Recreation & Parks District is classified as a "Special District" within Siskiyou County. 

The Mt. Shasta Recreation and Parks District was organized on June 21, 1948 and is the community leader in providing diverse recreational opportunities and facilities through stewardship and partnership. 

These terms will begin July 1, 2024 and expire June 30, 2028. 

The Recreation & Parks District Board is an independent Brown Act Legislative Body whose meetings are held monthly on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 6:00 p.m. at the Mt. Shasta City Park Headquarters located at 1315 Nixon Road, Mt. Shasta. Applications are being accepted from members of the community residing inside or outside of the Mt. Shasta City limits. Applicants should be prepared to participate in an interview conducted by the City Council regarding their application to fill this vacancy.
